The project involved renovation to the existing 2,223 s.f. Emergency Department Lobby at Blake Medical Center. The space includes the lobby, entry, waiting and ER reception, children's play area, a sub-waiting area for fast track patients, and registration as well as offices and work stations for staff. The challenge of this project was to re-direct all the emergency department patients and ambulance patients to a temporary drop-off area and temporary lobby for access to this department. The HVAC unit on the roof was replaced for the entire Emergency Department. The Emergency Department had a minimal shut down when replacing the existing HVAC unit. Working with hospital facilities aided this project in completing coordination of relocating the existing walk-in and ambulance entrance to other entrances within the Emergency Department for patients until construction was complete.
